A new digital campus has opened in Barnsley and it’s fantastic to be helping to charge it!

The Seam celebrates the town becoming the UK’s first government-backed Tech Town. The site currently consists of two digital media centres and Barnsley College’s SciTech Digital Innovation Hub. These buildings are surrounded by the Seam’s open space car parks.

As part of Phase One, we’ve been upgrading them with EV Charging… a mix of fast (up to 7kW) and ultra-rapid (up to 150kW) bays, built for different drivers and journeys.

It’s been brilliant building on our years of work with Barnsley Metropolitan Council, as their bold vision and ambition is realised. We also have to recognise the incredible efforts of our Joju Charging team, who pulled out all the stops on the installation to get it complete in record time fir the opening of The Seam.

It’s been good to partner with Be.EV here, as they add their funding and  their reputation into the mix, alongside our own – and our design and installation expertise.

This tech and digital hub is definitely one to watch as it grows… and we’re very excited for what comes next.
