Turning bluelight green

Are you electrifying your fleet and need an experienced Bluelight EV charging infrastructure partner?
Are you looking to power your sites with solar and back up electricity in a battery storage system?
We specialise in helping Bluelight organisations and NHS Trusts transition to clean energy.

Your trusted renewables partner

Bluelight services including Police, Fire and Rescue, Ambulance, health services and other emergency service organisations play a vital role in keeping our communities safe and well. These services typically operate across multiple sites and with highly specialised fleets, reliability is critical. Transitioning to low-carbon technologies has to be as seamless and efficient as possible, while keeping critical operations running smoothly.

At Joju, we have many years experience of working closely with Police, Fire and Rescue, Ambulance Services and NHS Trusts to support the adoption of renewable technologies, like this solar we’ve recently installed for Whittington NHS Trust in North London.

Who We Work With

We’ve installed EV charge point infrastructure for services including Avon Fire and Rescue, the MET police, Surrey and Sussex Police, the Medicences and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency, South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue, Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner for Staffordshire, Hampshire and IOW Fire and Rescue, and many more.

We’ve helped organisations including South Yorkshire Police and South Western Ambulance Service NHS Trust go solar. We’ve installed solar on the Metropolitan Police Specialist Training Centre and we’ve installed the very first micro grid technology solution for a UK police force, including solar car ports, battery storage and EV charging infrastructure. We’ve relished working with Avon and Somerset Police on this groundbreaking project.

We’re highly experienced managing secure sites and totally understand the requirements of Bluelight organisations. You can find us on multiple procurement frameworks and we are focused on delivering on time, on budget, and always with health and safety as the cornerstone of our service.

Our Operations and Maintenance team also makes certain that your installations perform at their best throughout the years, to deliver a reliability that’s imperative.

“The feasability study process was very informative and tailored to meet our needs at every stage. We're really pleased with how the installation has gone and have enjoyed working with the team at Joju. They are all helpful, friendly, and have resolved issues efficiently"
- Annabel Harford, Environmental Manager, Avon Fire and Rescue Service

Delivering social value

Financial savings and reduced energy bills are crucial, but renewable energy projects are about so much more: reducing carbon emissions, improving health and wellbeing, inspiring people of all ages, knowledge-sharing in local communities, and creating local jobs.

Social value is built in to our projects from the get-go and we have considerable experience of helping to create lasting impact.

Our ongoing work with South Yorkshire Police is testament to that and here we are supporting colleagues who are going above and beyond for sustainability in the service, as well as getting out in to schools to share with students how solar works… even on cloudy days!

Spotlight on Avon and Somerset Police

Avon and Somerset Police has become the first UK police force to use innovative micro-grid technology to support the future electrificatoon of its fleet. We’ve been working with the team there to deliver a combination of solar carports, higher-capacity DC chargers, AC chargers, and Battery Energy Storage systems across three of their sites. Avon and Somerset police were particularly interested in this combination of technologies to ensure fleet resiliance and we are proud to help them achieve it.

“Fantastic milestone — congratulations to Joju and partners. Proud to have led this project, delivering three depot installations and accelerating electrification across our estate. A genuinely transformational step forward for resilient fleet operations, delivered through strong collaboration.”
Ben Mohide, Fleet Electrification Programme Lead, Avon and Somerset Police
