Products

We at Joju Solar pride ourselves on the quality of our installed systems. That means we use high quality system components from trusted manufacturers.   This, coupled with our market leading expertise in system design, ensures that we choose best combination of components to maximise your energy yields

Solar Modules

Historically, the market over the last 10 years has been dominated by Japanese and German manufacturers, as these have been the major markets for solar PV installations. More recently we are seeing an influx of cheaper Chinese manufactured panels into the UK.

At Joju Solar we recommend installing well-proven modules from leading manufacturers, namely Sharp and Sanyo, which are detailed below. Both of these have been proven to work well in the UK and other temperate maritime climates. However, we remain independent and are not tied exclusively to any manufacturer.  We are continuously on the look out for panels that offer good efficiency, reliability in this climate and value for money.

In terms of technology, we install high efficiency crystalline silicon or hybrid modules. Amorphous silicon, although well suited to the UK climate is less efficient, making it less viable for domestic and rooftop installations where space is limited.

Sharp

Joju Solar are an approved installer and partner of Sharp, one of the few companies that actually manufacture in the UK. Their manufacturing plant at Wrexham supplies modules to the whole European market, and their visitors' centre is well worth a trip if you are ever in the area.  Module efficiencies are 14.1%, and their costs are extremely competitive.

Sanyo

Joju Solar are a premium installer of Sanyo panels which are a hybrid design combining a layer of crystalline silicon and amorphous silicon. Each layer absorbs a different colour of light giving improved efficiencies, so module efficiencies reach 17.3%. These panels are slightly more expensive, but give greater energy yields per unit area, so are a good choice if you are short of roof space. Installing Sanyo will ensure that you generate more energy than Sharp (per meter squared), and give you a greater annual income from the FiT. However, as the costs are higher your return on investment will be slightly lower.

SunPower

Joju Solar are an authorised installer of SunPower solar panels in the UK. The SunPower solar panels are the most efficient photovoltaic panels on the market today. The panels produce more power in the same amount of space - up to 50% more than some conventional panels. The panels are made using proven materials, tempered front glass, and a sturdy anodized frame allow the panel to operate reliably in multiple mounting configurations.

Inverters

Joju Solar do not use any one brand of inverter. For a given system, our engineers specify an inverter to maximise the energy return for you, and choosing the correct inverter is of the highest priority for our project teams. The majority of our installations use inverters from leading German manufacturers Fronius, SMA and Steca - some examples are below.   If you would like our project designers to explain their design philosophy or why they propose a particular inverter for your system then please ask. They will be delighted to explain.

Energy Monitors

We provide a range of monitoring solutions for domestic systems which can give you up to date information on your electricity generation. We use a number of systems based on your needs including the Wattson power meter and the Sunny Beam. The monitors we use come equipped with SMA Bluetooth technology so key data is always on hand.

Monitoring your system

When we install your system we will install an SMS enabled Wireless Smart Meter. This will allow you and us to monitor your solar energy production remotely on-line (including from your smart phone). We recommend this service because it allows us to monitor your system and contact you if it stops working for any reason. It also allows you a handy way of checking your energy generation and FIT earnings on-line at any time.

The cost of your installation includes a year of SMS readings (daily basis) and Joju Solar's remote monitoring service. If your system stops working then we will know and will contact you and arrange a site visit.

SMS Smart Meters work by sending an SMS mobile phone message to a server. If your property has poor network signal reception then it may not be possible to use this technology. In that case we will tell you and will inform a standard generation meter.
